On Tuesday, March 21, the student organized Marquette University Carillon Guild hosted the Yale University Student Carillon Guild. 12 student ringers from Yale all played the carillon at MU in the morning from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. The highly motivated student group used their spring break to travel to Marquette to visit our carillon.

Marquette University Carillon Guild was established in 2018. The current president and MU Lacrosse player, Holden Patterson, became fascinated by the carillon instrument when taking Carillon Discovery MUSI 2620. This course led him wanting to advance the knowledge of the MU carillon. The 48 bell MU carillon is housed at the top of Marquette Hall and was cast by the Paccard foundry in Annecy, France and installed on campus in 1967. Paccard bells are world known for the warm resonance and sound of their remarkable tuning.
